“Our bodies are amazing. They respond to everything little thing going on in our lives. To heal and stay in balance, we must remember that it is our job to nurture and support our bodies the best that we possibly can in any given moment. We must remember to be patient, forgiving and kind to ourselves. We must stop pretending that we know what is best for us and ask our bodies to guide and help us. Our bodies are incredibly happy to communicate with us, we just need to remember to slow down and make it a priority to listen.” ~ Robin Lee, Learning to Listen to Our Bodies Wisdom @ TheDailyLove.com

Sometimes life moves almost as fast as the speed of light. The alarm blares. The family needs. The friends request. The boss demands. Everyone in your life needs something … now.

With all of those demands and expectations to meet, who has time to eat, workout, rest or just take a “Calgon” moment (remember that commercial??)? Then again, with all those things going on, the better question is who has time not to?

But let’s face it. When is the last time you stopped and listened to the wisdom in the whispers your body constantly sends you? The whispers that tell you whether your body desires rest or exercise, something decadent or something healthy? The whispers that tell you whether your body needs some alone time or a hug, a good laugh or a good cry. The whispers that tell you when it’s experiencing illness or disease or whether you’ve finally achieved balance and wholeness.

Our body is truly our temple, the very thing that provides a dwelling space for our emotions and soul and, of course, for the Creator’s Spirit. And it’s the only one we get in this journey we call life. Continue reading

“One of the most pervasive beliefs I see that stops people from manifesting their dreams is that change and inspiration is this huge quantum moment that happens all at once. It’s just not true. Change happens one day, one moment, one step at a time. It’s 10,000 small steps that add up to a big leap.

The good news is that all you need to do right now is take one step. The tough news is that there’s a BUNCH of these small steps that you need to take to make the transformation you are dreaming about a reality. Sorry.

It’s not the best news in the world, but what’s rad is that all you need to do is focus on the next step. Not the third step, or the 100th step, just the next one.” ~ Mastin Kipp, TheDailyLove.com

Mastin’s daily dose of wisdom reminds me that the transformation of tomorrow is built out of the moment-to-moment change along the way.

There are countless examples in nature that make the same point. The incremental change of a seedling planted in fertile ground that yields fruit in due season. The incremental change that takes place over nine months in a mother’s womb and leads to the manifestation of a newborn baby. Or the incremental change that takes place in a chrysalis in about ten days’ time that leads to the manifestation of a Monarch butterfly. And every developmental step along the way is critical to lay the proper foundation for transformation. Continue reading

100 Days of Wisdom: Wisdom Day 7 – Why Fear is the New Black!

“There is appropriate fear and silly fear. Appropriate fear is being scared of a guy in a dark alley with a gun, or afraid of falling off a skyscraper, or being afraid of a young child hurting him/herself with a knife. But, most of the time, it’s just silly fear. You know what I’m talking about. The silly fear that no one will ever love you, or that if you follow your dreams you’ll fail or die or worse, or the silly fear that you’ll disappoint your parents by following your heart. By silly fear, I really just mean bullshit. LOL. There’s no other way to put it, really.”

Mastin Kipp, The Daily Love, Here’s Why Fear Can Actually Be Your Friend

Greetings!

I just love the “keep it real” style of Mastin Kipp. He delivers that unvarnished “straight no chaser truth”. It’s not for everybody, I suppose, but it should be! Because sometimes you just have to “call a thing a thing,” as Iyanla Vanzant says on Iyanla: Fix My Life! (Oprah Winfrey Network).

Sometimes it’s time to drop the pretense, the posturing, and the search for the politically correct sound bite or the socially acceptable sentiment and tell the truth. And the truth about fear is this:

1). all fear is a valuable messenger.

2). all fear isn’t created equal.

Fear is a valuable messenger and catalyst not only for personal and spiritual change but true transformation! The trick is to separate the fake from the real fear, to identify and be willing to receive the messages fear has come to give you and then to move through fear toward the lesson (and blessing) and not to get stuck in it or paralyzed by it.

But all this learning and moving through fear seems easier said than done sometimes, admittedly. And just what does moving through it mean anyway?

Here’s my take. Continue reading
