“The opposite of love is not hate, it’s indifference. The opposite of art is not ugliness, it’s indifference. The opposite of faith is not heresy, it’s indifference. And the opposite of life is not death, it’s indifference.” ~ Elie Wiesel ~

Greetings!

What do love, art, faith and life all have in common? They are all positive, dynamic, active, expansive, inclusive, affirming and inspirational. They all also involve an energetic exchange, one that fills you with positivity rather than draining you of your vitality.

If you love someone (or hate them), you’re invested. If you have a visceral reaction to creative expression — judging it as beautiful or ugly, again, you are invested with an opinion and therefore invested in an outcome. Faith or lack of faith? The same result. Some emotional investment. You care.

But one who is indifferent lacks the interest or investment to connect emotionally and energetically to a person or outcome. To be indifferent quite literally means to lack interest or concern. And when we disconnect emotionally — whether from a relationship or result — it is like severing the vine from the root. It’s only a matter of time before any fruit that would dare to bear actually withers and dies.

God did not intend for us to wither and die on the vine. So if you feel stuck in a sea of indifference, choose to return to LOVE, ART, FAITH and the LIFE you were meant to live.
